RATING: 4/5

I was a bit skeptical about getting this artbook because I thought this book was going to be very plain with the high price I am paying. But boy, was I wrong. I never expected to be hardcover, not to mention the HIGH quality paper. First of all, the beautiful cover had certain areas laminated, so it creates a very cool effect for the beholder. When you flip through the book, you instantly notice the thickness of the paper. This is definitely the most HQ paper I have ever seen, it's even more HQ than Japanese artbooks (maybe twice or triple the thickness). Now, let's move on to the heart of this book.

The content was where I felt a bit disappointed, hence, the 4/5 rating. The chapters were categorized by character, pairs, groups, etc. There were a good amount of two spread page. Since the artbook was bind like a book, you can clearly see the 2 page images. But content wise, I was expecting something more from Shel. However most of the images in the book can be found around the web. Actually, most of you probably have seen them all, just smaller in size. At the same time, some of the images can also be found in her other two artbooks (Wind & Clover and Far Beyond the Sky). The images were nice and that's all there is.

On the side note, the publisher rated the content NC-17, which is totally off the mark because there were hardly any nudity or kiss (the lips never touched).

Overall, if you like Shel's work or Naruto, then this artbook/fanbook makes a great collectible item. But if you're new to both of them, this book still takes your breath away when you open the package.

HQ books is always love! I love the shiny things :)

Is this a commercially released book or sort of like a doujinshi artbook published by an artist and without ISBN? Is it sold though deviantart? **do not really see it there**

I've never been into Naruto, so I have not seen the pictures before - but they are very lovely - nice colours, compositions and feeling. And even though I'm not in the fandom, I feel lots of love for the boys! Definitely a great artist! Though a pity that the book does not meet NC-17 expectations **evil laugh of the yaoi-fangirl** but of what I know Chinese artists are far more modest in the explicit sexual contents....

thank you for the reviews - they are really interesting and helpful to navigate in the sea of pretty things :)

I totally forgot to add the publisher for this one.

Siguredo@DA is like a private publisher that do a lot prints for djs and prints from different artists. Hence, no ISBN. The book still appear on Siguredo's sale page along with her other 2 artbooks. I think if you buy it together, they give you free shipping. But still, they OVER charge when compared to the original price in Chinese Yuan.

This is a pretty rare artbook in china, the price tag increases each year and it's really crazy. I got mine for like 200 RMB (2nd hand!) which is an equivalent of 25 USD. That's like an 100% increase in like less than 2 years.

I'll put up more such as those from Comicfans.

GOOD NEWS!

Eno is definitely coming out with a 2nd artbook, it's called "Silver Lotus"
Liu Wei is coming out with one also! But I don't think it's going to contain much new images because it's mostly from novel illustrations she did before.

When I get more info about those, I'll let you know.
